What I love to do:
I want to answer broad questions about how humans affect marine ecosystems. How do we affect the balance between species? Are we changing the realized niches of species? How are we impacting our ecosystems and the services they provide? As anthropogenic influence widens, these answers will prove essential in saving what natural systems we can.
I am a graduate student and McNair Scholar at University of Washington in the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences working under the advisement of Dr. Chelsea Wood. My current project: Investigating Ichthyophonus infection of Pacific herring in a known hotspot – Cordova Harbor, AK, is a collaboration between the University of Washington and the USGS, and funded by the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Trustee Council.
